William Grant Still Community Arts Center

“”Art Music” is a term created by the founder of this dynamic center to give a life-line for art and music in communities. The “William Grant Still Arts Center” is named after a man and a center that was and is dedicated to developing artistic and musical works by the communities in which they grow these “flowers” that spring from art/music. The Center has been hosting a “Black Doll Magic” show for the past 41 years, understanding the importance of dolls and their link to children and developing families. In the W.G.S. literature’s own words, “The intention was to create an environment to nurture the artistic talents of all members of the community, expose new audiences to the arts, and weave the fabric of art and culture into the tapestry of everyday life”.There is even a class that brings children as young as 3 years old into the space of Jazz and art!
