A Message from Lin Que (formerly Isis of X-Clan)

‘We Are the Girl’ aka wag is a Movement that was formed to support Female Hip Hop Artists from all around world. Our aim is to provide them with a platform to showcase their many talents. Unfortunately, it seems as though we have lost our voice in Hip Hop. There was a time when we had some form of positive representation within the industry. This positive representation has long time passed. We went from gripping microphones to gripping stripper polls. We have been reduced to “eye-candy’ and ‘mimes.’

I realized that the only way for us to once again make our mark is to join forces. Throughout the history of Hip Hop, there have been many groups of emcees that came out to show the world their skills. Within the majority of these groups, there was only one woman who provided them with much-needed feminine energy. The myth that women together don’t get along needs to be dismissed. It has been a form of separatism that has kept us divided for so long and has also caused us to weaken our strength as a whole. It is time for us now to unite and create our own path to success. If a woman is considered the backbone of the family then we as women are the backbone of the nation.

‘We Are the Girl’ believes in giving back to the community. all the proceeds from
the download of our first release, ‘Suga-Coated’, will go toward a charity for women. all wag charity projects will do the same. We are here to support women both on the professional stage and the world’s stage. ‘We Are the Girl’ believes that We Are All One. That is why I named it ‘We Are the Girl’(singular)… as opposed to “We Are the Girls’(plural).

  1. I THINK THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL AND MUCH NEEDED ENDEAVOR! I AM A WOMAN WORKING IN A MALE DOMINATED MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY.

I HAVE MUCH LOVE FOR MY BUSINESS PARTNERS, FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES THAT ARE MALE.. ( I AM LUCKY THAT THEY DO RESPECT ME) HOWEVER I HAVE HAD MANY EXPERIENCES WHEN I HAVE BEEN TREATED LIKE A “GIRL FRIDAY” AS OPPOSED TO A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH!

IT IS NOT A PLEASANT FEELING TO BE TREATED LIKE YOU ARE LESS THAN YOUR MALE COUNTERPARTS…BUT I “JUST SAY NO” TO DISCRIMINATION! LOL… I WISH YOU MUCH SUCCESS WITH THIS IMPORTANT MOVEMENT!!! YOU ALAWAYS HAVE A HOME WITH US AT STREETPRESSURE.COM.
